A mother and her children were killed in what police believe to be a murder-suicide after a series of disturbing messages were sent to their father who had been out drinking at a bar.

A 39-year-old man in Phoenix was at Tailgaters Bar just after midnight on Monday when his wife, Andrea Clarice Davis, 38, allegedly began firing shots at him, before she raced home and shot herself and their two children.

The husband told officers that his wife had arrived at the bar and opened fire before she drove off in a gray SUV, the Glendale Police Department said.

After police arrived at the bar, another 36-year-old woman who had been a patron at Tailgaters was found with a gunshot wound to the back of her head and was rushed to hospital. She is expected to survive.

Not long after the bar shooting, the man told police that Davis started to text him with threats of harming their children, a ten-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl.

‘The male victim subsequently received a text message containing a photo of one of the children bleeding,’ Glendale police told the Daily Mail in a statement.

Officers responded to the couple’s home in Phoenix at around 2.30am where they found the suspected shooter and the couple’s two children deceased from gunshot wounds.

‘It is very difficult to deal with today,’ Phoenix Police Sergeant Lorraine Fernandez told AZ Central. ‘No one wants to see harm done to children.’

Felicia Queen, a cousin of the children’s father, told the outlet that Davis and her husband had been in the process of separating. The family asked for privacy.

According to ABC 15, no record of prior domestic violence reports had been made in the area.

Both scenes remain active, with the Glendale Police Department investigating the bar scene and the homicide investigation under the control of the Phoenix Police Department.

The Daily Mail reached out to the Phoenix Police Department for comment.
