Netflix’s New Crime Thriller Is So Addictive, Viewers Are Binge-Watching Until 3 A.M. – And The Final Twist Changes Everything
Harlan Coben has firmly established himself as a household name in both literature and television, and he’s back once again with a bang as his 2023 novel finally makes its transition to the small screen.
In his latest project, the American crime and thriller writer sees his book I Will Find You adapted into an eight-episode mini-series. Having already cemented itself as a best-seller, it was only a matter of time before the gripping tale took on a new lease of life, much like many of his other compelling thrillers under his deal with the streaming giant.
The story centres on a father, David Burroughs, who is wrongfully imprisoned for the killing of his own son. However, upon receiving information suggesting his boy may actually still be alive, he becomes determined to break free and track him down.
Following the runaway success of the 2024 adaptation of Fool Me Once, which featured Michelle Keegan, Coben’s profile soared even further, meaning expectations for this new drama are understandably sky-high. Within just the first day of its release on June 18, viewers have already eagerly thrown themselves into the storyline and have plenty to say about it.

Sam Worthington and Britt Lower take on the lead roles, alongside Milo Ventimiglia, Logan Browning and Madeline Stowe. Worthington has drawn considerable praise for his performance, with many fans crediting his previous work in Avatar, Clash of the Titans and Fractured as the reason they tuned in.
One viewer, who had already devoured the entire season in one sitting, wrote: “This show completely took over my life from the moment I pressed play and ended up finishing the entire thing in a single sitting because I simply couldn’t look away.
“This wasn’t just a show I enjoyed – it was a show I experienced. The kind that reminds you why great television can be so powerful. I couldn’t stop watching. And then again, what else should I have expected? This is THE GREAT HARLAN COBEN! ! !”.
Meanwhile, another fan of the show shared: “Are there plot holes? Sure – it’s a made for Netflix soap opera type of show. But the acting is solid, the story is solid, and the plot kept me interested to binge the whole season. I recommend- definitely worth the watch if you like thrillers/mysteries.”

However, not everybody is quite so enthusiastic. As reviews continue to pour in, it’s evident that some viewers were far less taken with the supposedly “powerful” storyline.
One critic wrote: “Unless you are prepared to COMPLETELY suspend belief of even the most normal, basic expectations of realism, give this a miss.’ I am a massive fan of Sam Worthington, and it’s only the fact he’s in it that I finished the first episode.
“The ridiculous scenarios you’re expected to swallow had me turning it off 10 minutes into episode 2. They should market this as a sci-fi or fantasy or something instead of a thriller.”
For those who were thoroughly captivated by the series, however, there is disappointing news — it won’t be continuing any further, as it’s intended to be a standalone miniseries, much like the majority of Coben’s previous work.
