A MAN bled to death in his father’s arms in the middle of the night after he was stabbed in a hookup gone wrong.

The victim, identified by friends as 28-year-old Bobby Carragher, was stabbed in the basement of his parents’ home by a woman he had been friends with for several years, police said.

Kristen Sculley, 22, allegedly snuck into Carragher’s home in Massapequa, a town on Long Island, New York, in the middle of the night on Monday for a pre-arranged meetup before stabbing the man in his bed.

“We believe that this female individual made an arrangement,” Nassau County Police Detective Lt. George Darienzo said, according to the New York Post.

“She was an acquaintance of our victim, who made an arrangement to get together that evening.”

Police believe that Sculley became angry toward Carragher and “stabbed him in the neck while he lay sleeping in bed,” Darienzo said, according to WABC.

“He climbed the stairs to seek the assistance of his mother, screaming. His mother and father came to his aid,” the detective continued.

“They attempted to control that bleeding in the kitchen. At some point, her son became unresponsive.”

Carragher “died in his father’s arms,” Darienzo revealed.

“No family should ever have to bear witness to their son being killed in that manner.”

Sculley was allegedly found hiding in the lower level of the house with a pocketknife, which is believed to be the murder weapon.

Sculley appeared to be crying in her mugshot after she was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder.

She was arraigned in court on Tuesday, where she pleaded not guilty, according to Newsday.

She and Carragher were friends and knew one another “for several years,” Darienzo explained.

However, it remains unclear if the pair had a romantic relationship.

“The defendant took out a knife that she brought with her and plunged it into the victim’s neck, puncturing an artery in his neck,” Deputy Homicide Bureau Chief Ania Pulaski said in court on Tuesday, Newsday reported.

Darienzo said that police had found evidence of drug use but did not find any drugs inside the home.

One of Carragher’s friends, Louis Ambrosio, spoke with WABC, saying, “Bobby lit up every room he walked into.”

“It’s disturbing that the room I hung out in with my friend, he was dead, stabbed, murdered in his sleep. It’s just not right,” he continued through tears.

Mindy Plotkin, Sculley’s attorney, said she was investigating whether Sculley was trying to defend herself against the victim.

“I think self-defense is something that definitely has to be looked into in this case,” she told Newsday.

Several people were seen carrying groceries into the family‘s home throughout Monday.

Anthony Boccia, who lives on the street where the incident occurred, told Newsday that residents were up all night with the flashing police lights and sound of helicopters.
