A FRANTIC 911 call has surfaced after a mom was found shot dead, with her husband first claiming a home invasion.

Dispatch traffic shows officers raced in thinking an intruder could still be inside.

Former American Idol contestant Caleb Flynn, who once gushed about his wife on the show, even saying she could pass for Carrie Underwood, is now accused of killing her in Ohio.

Ashley Flynn was killed early Monday inside her home on Cunningham Court, Tipp City, Ohio, according to dispatch logs.

Prosecutors say Flynn shot his wife in the head with a 9mm handgun, then tried to make the scene look like a home invasion to throw investigators off.

Flynn, has since been charged with murder and evidence tampering after investigators said the scene was staged.

Court records say the couple’s two daughters were asleep in nearby bedrooms during the shooting.

In the first radio traffic, a dispatcher warned: “Someone broke into the RP’s house, unknown if they are still there. Garage door is open.”

“There was apparently a female shot in the head.”

“She is not responding currently,” the dispatcher said.

“Squad is en route; they aren’t staged yet. Are they good to respond in?” the dispatcher asked.

“Yes, one person only,” a first responder replied.

The caller also flagged that kids were inside the home, according to the dispatch logs, CBS affiliate WHIO reported.

“RP and juvenile daughter are locked in a bedroom,” the dispatcher said, before correcting: “the juveniles are going to be in their own rooms asleep currently.”

Investigators initially treated it as a burglary and searched the area, reports said.

But authorities later said they were led astray “by the staging of the crime scene,” according to a criminal complaint.

Flynn called 911 around 2:30 am and claimed someone had broken in and shot his wife, according to court documents cited in reports.

In audio quoted in coverage, he told dispatch, “Oh my god, somebody broke into my home.”

He also said, “My wife, she’s got two shots to her head, there’s blood everywhere.”

The Miami County prosecutor would not release the 911 call because it’s part of the investigative record.

Police also pushed back on rumors swirling online, saying claims a suspect was in custody and had confessed were false.

Flynn appeared in court Friday and told the judge, “I just want to take care of my daughters. I’m not a risk.”

Bond was set at $2 million, and his attorney Patrick Mulligan, called it “unnecessarily high,” saying, “It denies him the opportunity to be at the funeral for his wife.”

During his appearance on American Idol in 2013, Flynn praised his faith and his marriage in a hometown-style interview segment.

“I absolutely love the Lord. I love my wife more than anything. She is very, very pretty…I love her,” he said.

He then named Underwood as his favorite past contestant, saying,“She’s just absolutely incredible. Love her attitude and just her passion for what she does.”

And he added, “And, I promise you, if my wife dyed her hair blonde, she would look just like her.”
