EXCLUSIVE: In a MAFS Reunion twist nobody saw coming, Steph was embroiled in a photo scandal of sorts with Bec’s ex Danny.

The revelation that her ex had been texting and receiving a bikini photo from another bride had Bec furious, but Steph told nine.com.au her communication with Danny was completely innocent.

Steph explains her side

Having only been in the experiment for two-and-a-half weeks, Steph added all the cast, including Danny, on social media to stay connected.

“I noticed that Danny had viewed one of my stories on Instagram so I reached out to him,” Steph explained how their conversation began.

Steph said they were just talking “about life and how he’s going”.

“I went to Hamilton Island with work, and he said he’d never been there. I sent him a couple of photos, one of which was me in a bikini, which had already been posted on social media,” she said.

“There was f—ing nothing to it.”

With Steph and Danny both working in real estate, the chat naturally continued to property and careers and when Steph got in her car she “took the convo to voice notes because we’re not texting and driving”.

The pair continued sending voice notes back and forth, and Steph admitted it was “so good” to hear Danny’s voice.

She stood firm it was not flirtatious and “came from a place of comfort”.

“I was having a conversation I would’ve had with anyone,” she said.

Steph added the pair are already connected outside the experiment as Danny knows her cousin.

Moment Steph told Bec she’d texted Danny

Steph and Bec were at the airport heading to the Reunion when Bec asked Steph if she’d heard from Danny.

“I said we spoke but I didn’t give [Bec] a play-by-play recollection of how things went down,” Steph explained how the information came to light in the first place.

Bec felt Steph was being “cagey” about her conversation with Danny and Steph somewhat agreed.

“What I told her is not the exact events of how it happened,” Steph said.

To clear the air once and for all, Steph gave Bec her phone the next day so she could read through the texts with Danny herself.

Steph said if she’d really done anything wrong she wouldn’t have shown Bec the messages in the first place.

Are Steph and Danny together?

Steph and Danny are just friends and nothing more.

“He’s a friend, that’s it. I treat him like anyone else in this experiment,” Steph reconfirmed.

“I choose my friendships based on the individual and how that individual treats me.

“I’m not here to be getting caught up in Bec and Danny’s drama. I couldn’t care less.

“At the end of the day, I’ve got an individual relationship with Danny. He’s lovely to me. I’m lovely back.”

Steph said it was “the same with Bec”, even though she wasn’t “so lovely at Reunion night”.

“I just ignored that because I’m not engaging or tolerating that kind of behaviour. But yeah, look, it’s fine.”
