Upset viewers have hit out after the BBC released their 2025 Christmas TV schedule, fuming “what a letdown!”
There will be festive editions of several BBC programmes, each filled with seasonal moments for fans to enjoy next month – but clearly they’re not to everyone’s tastes.
As the broadcaster shared what they had in store, X users raced to share their grievances – and didn’t mince their words.
One example is Mrs Brown’s Boys – which has become a staple for the Beeb since debuting in 2011 – and will have two specials.
This sitcom features creator Brendan O’Carroll, 70, portraying foul-mouthed matriarch Agnes Brown.
Other shows on the BBC One schedule include The Night Manager, Amandaland, Death in Paradise and Here We Go, to name just a few.

Irish sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys has received mixed reviews in its many years on air
Also among the list are The Traitors, EastEnders, Beyond Paradise, Call The Midwife‘s specials, Here We Go and Strictly Come Dancing.
For BBC Two, viewers will be able to enjoy the likes of Gone Christmas Fishing, Christmas University Challenge and Mammooth.
Reacting online, one person penned: ‘Genuinely not one thing that stands out! What a letdown.’
Another wrote: ‘Well, that’s a whole lot of nothing special!’
A third added: ‘Please don’t ruin Christmas with Mrs Browns Boys!’
While a fourth chimed in: ‘My expectations after last year’s line up were low but holy.’
Despite its longevity, Mrs Brown’s Boys has long received mixed reviews from the BBC audience.
Upon its return to screens in August, one viewer penned on X: ”Worst programme in human history should’ve never been commissioned.’
Another remarked: ‘I don’t know anyone who will admit to liking, or even just watching, this show.’
While a third wrote: ‘Just speechless… I honestly don’t know one person who thinks this show is remotely funny.’
Others shared their praise over the show, with one saying: ‘Love love love Mrs Brown’s Boys.’
A second person posted: ‘Can’t wait for it. If that humor isn’t for you, don’t watch it. It’s been on long enough now to know what to expect, yet people still choose to watch it anyway.’

Here We Go began in 2022 starring Ghosts’ Jim Howick, The IT Crowd’s Katherine Parkinson and Gavin and Stacey’s Alison Steadman
The sitcom’s 2024 Christmas special saw its ratings plummet to the lowest ever, with viewers claiming it ‘ruined’ their holiday spirit.
The show, which has been branded ‘marmite television’, attracted a measly 2.2 million viewers on Christmas Day, which was a huge drop from the 11.5 million who tuned into the show’s 2013 special.
Last year’s festive instalment saw the Irish matriarch trying to convince her family that she was not grumpy like Scrooge.
However, those at home described the episode as ‘spectacularly unfunny’.
Although Mrs Brown’s Boys struggled in the ratings, elsewhere on BBC1, Gavin and Stacey: The Finale was the most watched show of the festive season with 12.5 million, while Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl attracted 9.5 million.
