Human remains have been found after a week-long search for missing Melbourne father Khalid Malas who was allegedly shot dead.
The remains were found about 3pm on Wednesday covered in grass on Havelock Road in Clarkefield, north-west of the Victorian capital.

Police say they are still to be formally identified.
The coroner has been advised and a postmortem will be held.
Malas 37, was shot in the torso last Wednesday as he was travelling to a property in Wildwood to chase up a debt with two friends when a dispute allegedly turned violent.
The 56-year-old homeowner allegedly loaded the wounded man into a ute, which was later spotted at a Greenvale service station.
He has been charged with one count of intentionally causing serious injury.
Police will now consider upgraded charges following the results of a postmortem.
Detectives believe both parties were known to each other.
During the past week, members of Khalid Malas’ family joined the extensive police search, involving specialist divers, the canine unit and foot units,
They described the father of three as a “beautiful man”.
“He did not deserve what happened to him,” Abdul Malas told 9News.
“Every day we hear people killed, this one gets shot, this one gets shot. We should wake up in a beautiful country.”
