T3rrifying 300ft Cliff Plunge at Popular Beauty Spot After Car Bursts Through Wall—Dramatic Rescue Unfolds

A CAR has crashed through a stone wall and plunged 300ft off a cliff at a popular UK beauty spot.

Emergency services were called to Great Orme in Wales on Saturday morning after walkers heard a vehicle fall from a height.

It is not known how many passengers were in the car during the crash, but witnesses said that it was “badly damaged”.

An unnamed dog walker said: “There was initially a lot of commotion and confusion, but the car was so badly damaged that it’s doubtful that anyone could have survived that.

“The police arrived quickly and closed the road and an air ambulance landed close to where the car ended up.

“There are very sheer drops along the route, but the road is one way only and had a 4ft high dry-stone wall to stop cars going over the edge.

“Most people drive slowly up there as they want to take in the incredible views.

“Llandudno is heaving with tourists making the most of the nice weather, and a lot of them will go along Marine Drive at some point.”

Another local added: “This is an awful thing to happen, but I can’t say I’m all that surprised an accident has occurred up there as some people do drive very fast along that road.”

North Wales police closed down Marine Drive in Llandudno after arriving at the scene on July 11.

The car had smashed through a stone wall and dropped off the cliff side.

Wales Air Ambulance was deployed to the scene on the Great Orme, with two of its helicopters flying over the crash.

It is reported that one of the air ambulances had delivered a casualty to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital in Bodelwyddan.

The force is investigating the incident and said the road will remain closed while it continues with its inquiry.
