She Rides Shotgun currently holds an 86% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising Egerton and his young co-star Ana Sophia Heger’s performances.

The Los Angeles Times wrote in their review: “The real surprise here is Heger, who, at 11 years old, takes on a complicated role with absolute conviction,” while Vulture described the film as “unforgettable,” adding that Heger “is a true discovery”.

NPR wrote: “Egerton is ripped and terrifying as a father whose very existence seems to put his daughter in danger; and Heger is flat-out terrific as a child who proves as resourceful and canny as she is vulnerable.”

“Director Nick Rowland hotwires a familiar scenario and puts pedal to the metal in a gripping thriller with as much heart and soul as sound and fury,” penned Variety.

Meanwhile, Egerton is making waves with Netflix thriller Apex alongside Charlize Theron.

Theron stars as an adrenaline junkie rock climber who “finds out that nature isn’t the only dangerous element out to get her when she sets out on an expedition in the wild,” while Egerton will play a psychopath who stalks her.
