Since its release at the end of January, Sky’s latest thriller Under Salt Marsh has steadily become a fan favourite among crime drama lovers, which is largely due to its ‘compelling, psychologically astute’ plot, as stated by The Guardian. Starring Yellowstone‘s Kelly Reilly as Jackie Ellis, a detective-turned-teacher, who is tasked with the responsibility of unearthing the truth behind the mysterious death of young a boy.
Set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen, the series’ tight-knit community comes undone when 8-year-old student, Cefin Hill’s body is found in an apparent drowning. The discovery resurfaces an unsolved cold case whereby a young girl (Ellis’ niece) died three years prior. As long-held lies threaten to bury the truth around the murders, Ellis and detective Eric Bull (Rafe Spall) must work together to uncover what really happened.
