A Netflix true crime documentary that viewers describe as one of the most ‘bone chilling’ available makes for the ideal follow-up watch after one of the streamer’s recent smash hits.
Vast numbers of subscribers have been gripped by the newly released film Maternal Instinct. The title recounts the shockingly true tale of a pregnancy secret that spiralled into something far darker than anyone could have ever imagined.
At the time of writing, it holds the top spot as the most watched film amongst UK subscribers. Fans have been racing through the feature-length documentary so rapidly that they’ve already been scouring for their next watch.

The documentary begins by following the mysterious death of a young mother discovered by the roadside. Shortly afterwards, her son is abducted, blowing open a decades-long mystery surrounding the woman’s true identity and a murderous fugitive lurking at the heart of it all.
Those recommending it to Maternal Instinct fans described it as ‘crazy’, confessing they “haven’t stopped thinking about it.” They also noted it features jaw-dropping twists that will leave you completely stunned.
