Megan Tangye De-a-th Takes Dark Turn After Police Raise Alarms Over Her Injuries
A 47-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of Port Macquarie woman Megan Tangye.
Strike Force Hazen detectives arrested the man aboard a boat moored on the Hastings River near Westport Park on the NSW Mid North Coast about 6.30am on Monday.

He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with murder (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).
The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Tuesday.
Ms Tangye, 31, died after she was found suffering multiple injuries at a unit on Gore St in Port Macquarie on December 27, 2025.
Emergency services were called to the unit about 11.40am before Ms Tangye was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital, where she died a short time later.
Police established Strike Force Hazen to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council rangers also attended the boat and seized a dog that was aboard the vessel.
Police said in January they were treating Ms Tangye’s death as suspicious following a post-mortem examination.

Mid North Coast Police District crime manager Detective Inspector Mark Rogers said at the time the nature of Ms Tangye’s injuries formed part of detectives’ suspicions surrounding her death.
Ms Tangye’s half-brother’s ex-partner Erin Reneye previously described her as “a beautiful soul”.
“She lived a beautiful, colourful and interesting life,” Ms Reneye said.
“She was insightful, she was creative, she was kind. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body.”
