Good Morning Britain star Kate Garraway says she ‘vindicated’ over her viral Celebrity Traitors moment after being mocked for months over a comment she made.
The popular presenter appeared on the first ever series of The Celebrity Traitors last year, with a host of famous faces such as Jonathan Ross, Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie among those who joined Claudia Winkleman in the Scottish Highlands.
Kate managed to make it all the way to the penultimate episode, having suspected her of being a traitor since the opening episode of the series due to some of her expressions around her contestants.
Following Kate’s exit, faithfuls Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed, former rugby star Joe Marler and historian David Olusoga, and traitors Alan Carr and Cat Burns took each other on in the final of the programme.
In the end it was comedian Alan who managed to pull off an unlikely win, securing £87,500 for his chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK
Despite the series being over as well as the recent fourth series of the public version, many people still can’t get over the moment Tom Daley became suspicious of her for using the word ‘flabbergasted’.
Alan famously said to Olympic diver Tom about his remarks: “You can’t just call someone a Traitor because they have a better vocabulary than you!”

Appearing on Good Morning Britain this week, Kate and her co-stars discussed new research which said that ‘flabbergasted’ is on a list of words Britons would like to see in regular use once more.
“Brilliant! Where’s Tom Daley now? He wouldn’t eye roll, would he, with that survey,” the 58-year-old mum-of-two said.
Sharing a clip of the discussion, Kate wrote on Instagram: “Vindicated on @gmb – a new survey reveals the top 20 words Brits want to see make a comeback.. and for once I’m NOT flabbergasted what’s number 1.
“Apparently the #kids are evolving them by shortening them – so I am definitely flabs on so many levels!”
The comments section of Kate’s post saw her fans and followers rushing to have their say on the moment, with many issuing their own apologies about the memes about her vocabulary.
@tvmarv said: “Good on ya, Kate! Gen X words rule.” @adrianslowey added: “It seems it’s like fashion. Hold on to it long enough and it will come back into style.”
@julieplayerfashion wrote: “Well I’m gobsmacked!” @lemonnyem stated: “Now this is something I can get behind!”
@seven_curses commented: “’You can’t call someone a traitor because they have a better vocabulary than you’… this was the moment Alan won the show.” @louisalemonsqueezer posted: “OMG seriously it’s used all the time by people I don’t see the fuss!”
