The Pitt' Renewed for Season 2 at Max

HBO
Unlike some shows that have years-long hiatuses between seasons, The Pitt is already back for round two! The fan-favorite drama, each episode of which covers an hour of a shift in a Pittsburgh ER, picks up on a busy Fourth of July.

Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle, who won an Emmy for the role) is back, but his mind is already halfway out the door — it’s his last day before a hiatus. He worries his idealistic replacement, Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), may not have the chops to survive the ruthless pace and craziness of the emergency room.

The Pitt Season 2: Dana's Return Could Lead to Even More Emotional StorylinesHBO
Dana Evans (Katherine LaNasa, who also won an Emmy for her role) quit at the end of season 1 after a patient punched her, but she’s back, too, as is (supposedly) sober Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball), who was shown the door last season after he was caught stealing drugs.

Ratcheting up the tension, the hospital’s computers go down just as the patients begin piling up.

One of the most popular shows of 2025, this engrossing medical drama is just what the doctor ordered. New episodes drop weekly.

The Pitt | Airs Thursday, Jan. 8, at 9 ET, on HBO Max
