SNL's' Colin Jost forced to crack joke about wife Scarlett Johansson's body on 'Weekend Update'

It was the late-night reunion that has the digital world ‘completely unglued’!

In a ‘rafter-raising’ appearance on The Tonight ShowWeekend Update anchor Colin Jost finally broke his silence on the ‘scandalous’ 2024 joke swap that left his wife, Marvel superstar Scarlett Johansson, ‘reeling.’ While the world watched Jost sweat through Che’s ‘vicious’ scripts, the ‘unfiltered’ truth about what happened backstage is even more ‘harrowing.’

The ‘Arby’s’ Ambush

Colin Jost reads joke about Scarlett Johansson on 'SNL' Weekend Update

The ‘mayhem’ began when Michael Che gave Scarlett a ‘pious’ heads-up about a potential joke. “They were like, ‘Would you be okay if Michael made a little, like, kind of vagina joke?’” Jost revealed. Scarlett agreed, thinking she was prepared—until the ‘blockbuster’ graphic for Arby’s appeared on screen.

“Scarlett is backstage like, ‘Oh my god, that’s what it is?!’” Jost shared, admitting his ‘shaking’ reaction on air was 100% authentic because he “can’t act that well.”

‘Trapped’ at the 50th Anniversary

Scarlett Johansson trashes Colin Jost's vulgar 'SNL' joke: 'Gross'

The atmosphere became ‘electric’ as Jost discussed the ‘spine-tingling’ New York magazine photoshoot for SNL’s 50th Anniversary. Working with visionary David LaChapelle, Jost and Bowen Yang found themselves ‘trapped’ on a three-story bunk bed after the photographer ‘viciously’ removed the ladder.

“We were like 20 feet, very high up in the air,” Jost recalled, describing a ‘raucous’ set where LaChapelle used a bullhorn pointed at a wall while screaming at Steve Martin to take his glasses off.

‘Pop Culture’ Redemption?

Now hosting Pop Culture Jeopardy!, Jost admits he has ‘pious’ empathy for contestants. Having been the “statistically weakest link” in every single round of his own college game show appearance, he knows the ‘harrowing’ pressure of the buzzer.
