BREAKING: Family Issues Urgent Plea After Grandmother Vanishes Without a Trace During Routine Walk in NSW
The family of a grandmother who has been missing for almost three months has issued a heartbreaking plea to the public.
Rita-Marie Collin was last seen walking along Woy Woy Rd in Kariong, on the NSW Central Coast, about 10.45am on May 5.
Police have conducted numerous, multi-agency searches of the area and in nearby bushland in the months since her disappearance.
Despite specialist units such as the Dog Squad joining those searches, there has been no sign of Collin.
On Tuesday, the eve of the one-month anniversary since she went missing, her daughter Amy Collin called on the public for any help finding the 60-year-old.
“To the world she may be a missing person, but to us she is Mum — a wife, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend,” she said.
“She is loved, she is missed, and we think about her every single day.”
Amy said the family will not allow the case to remain unsolved, vowing to keep searching and holding out hope.
“We wake up each day wanting answers, wanting to know where she is, and wanting to bring her home,” she said.
“Please don’t let another day pass without coming forward if you know something.
“Even the smallest detail could help us find Mum and give our family the clarity we’ve been desperately waiting for.”
Detective Inspector Paul Fenwick said investigators hold serious concerns for the grandmother’s welfare.
“(Collin) has now been missing for three months and despite extensive searches and public appeals, her whereabouts remain unknown,” Fenwick said.
“Multiple coordinated searches have been conducted across bushland in Kariong and along Woy Woy Road, but without new information, the investigation cannot move forward.”
Collin is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, with a slim build, blonde hair and green eyes.
She was last seen wearing denim jeans, a denim-style jacket with a black T-shirt underneath and carrying a white bag.
