BAR REJECTION MYSTERY: Australian Man Allegedly Turned Away Hours Before Thai Teen’s Tragic De-a-th

The Perth man accused of strangling a Thai teenager and stuffing her body into a suitcase was allegedly spotted drinking with a sex worker just hours before the alleged murder, according to local witnesses.

Simon Peter Carman, 45, is facing charges including murder after the body of Tunchanok Donhomla, 17, was found inside a suitcase near railway tracks more than 4km from his Jomtien apartment complex.

Mr Carman was arrested on Friday night, minutes before he was due to board a Jetstar flight bound for Perth.

The Daily Telegraph reported a hostess at the Marina 2 Bar in Jomtien Beach, Thailand, said Mr Carman had allegedly been knocked back by another woman shortly before he met Ms Donhomla.

Sky Kanyarat, 23, said she witnessed the man drinking a beer in the venue alongside another worker.

“He bought one drink for the lady and drank one bottle of beer,” Ms Kanyarat said.

According to Ms Kanyarat, Mr Carman attempted to hire the woman for sexual services, but she refused.

Just hours later it is alleged Ms Donhomla went missing.

Investigators tracked her final movements to Mr Carman’s hotel, where she was allegedly seen being led by her hand up an elevator on Thursday.

Local media reported that she had been engaged for sexual services. Footage taken from outside the apartment later showed Mr Carman leaving alone — and pulling a suitcase.

The West has confirmed that the Perth man is currently being kept at Pattaya Remand Prison as detectives work to submit their case to the public prosecutor within an 84 day deadline post arrest.
