Netflix fans say ‘don’t listen to critics’ as thriller with 9% rating added (Image: NETFLIX)

Netflix has recently introduced a nostalgic British thriller brimming with familiar faces, though it sadly endured savage reviews upon its 2010 release.

Boasting major names from beloved series such as Skins and Game of Thrones, plus stars who’ve subsequently appeared in massive Hollywood productions, it currently holds an appalling Rotten Tomatoes rating of merely 9 percent.

The picture fared little better with cinema-goers, garnering only 35 percent approval from ordinary viewers.

Despite the movie’s disheartening original reception, Chatroom has cultivated a devoted cult fanbase who urge enthusiasts to disregard the critics now it’s accessible for streaming across the UK.

Virtually every cast member has subsequently achieved enormous stardom, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson (28 Years Later), Imogen Poots (All of You), Matthew Beard (Funny Woman) and Skins veterans Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones) and Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out).

Additional prominent figures in the remarkable ensemble include Megan Dodds (Not Going Out), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones), Jacob Anderson (Interview With the Vampire), Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey), Ophelia Lovibond (Rocketman), and Richard Madden (Game of Thrones). Furthermore, it’s helmed by Japanese horror maestro Hideo Nakata, renowned for the legendary cult phenomenon Ring, so Chatroom remains thoroughly worthwhile viewing despite the critical reception.

One IMDb reviewer even labels it their “All-Time Favorite Film” in a perfect 10/10 assessment.

“I’m absolutely floored by all of the negative reviews this movie has gotten,” they revealed.

“If anything, stick around for the adrenaline rush that hits you in the last 15 minutes of the film. Do not listen to these nay-sayers, as there is so much more to Chatroom than clichés. It is truly an amazing film, and I will stand by that opinion until the day I die.”

Another glowing critique declared: “This movie is greatly entertaining, well crafted and superbly acted. I really can’t understand why this film got such a low rating on IMDb.”
