Based on Araminta Hall’s bestselling novel, the eight-episode drama charts the decade-spanning (and sometimes toxic) friendship between Mary, Eleanor and Nancy. Sure, they might appear inseparable, but dark secrets and unspoken truths quickly rise to the surface when Nancy is tragically killed. As an investigation into her murder unfolds, Mary and Eleanor realise just how little they knew about one another, and the events that led to Nancy’s death.

Apple TV’s official synopsis reads: “After a murder shatters the lives of three best friends, their decades-long bond is tested when an investigation reveals betrayals and shocking truths.”
At the centre of the drama, Kate Mara (House of Cards, The Martian) portrays Nancy, a wealthy wife and mother who appears to have it all. Following one last reunion with her best friends, Mary (The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss) and Eleanor (Scandal‘s Kerry Washington), Nancy’s sudden disappearance and apparent murder sends shockwaves through the local community, not to mention her inner circle.

As Mary and Eleanor come to terms with Nancy’s death, they begin to realise just how little they knew about one another, with the police investigation exposing shocking secrets and untold betrayals between the tumultuous trio.

Boasting a star-studded ensemble, Kate, Elisabeth and Kerry are joined by an impressive line-up. Appearing as Robert, Nancy’s charming husband, is Joel Kinnaman (The Killing, For All Mankind), while Corey Stoll (The Better Sister) takes on the role of Howard, Mary’s husband.

There’s less than a week until Imperfect Women lands on our screens. Slated to premiere on Apple TV on 18 March, the first two episodes will be available to watch, with the remaining six added every Wednesday through to April 29.
