Renae’s Sh0ck Exit Sparks Huge Controversy – Now Farmer Dylan Is Finally Responding to the Backlash
Sunday night’s episode of Farmer Wants A Wife at the Dungog Country Fair brought its fair share of fireworks – both good and bad! From secret kisses to the introduction of intruders stirring up already uneasy emotions, no wonder there were two shock exits.
First, intruder Asha chose to leave Farmer Zac’s farm after the pressure of competing got too much, then fan-favourite Renae from Farmer Dylan’s property decided to walk away as she felt their spark was fading.
Her departure caused quite a stir online, particuarly after her vulnerable conversation with Dylan that ended with her crying and him listening in silence.
“Dylan didn’t give a chance to the nicest girl in his group, Renae,” one fan wrote in reaction to her choice. “She seems so genuine, but she’s too good for him.”
“Poor Renae, I felt so sorry for her, she never even had a chance with him,” another agreed. “Probably a good thing as he doesn’t know what or who he wants.. needs to grow up some more!”
Renae had been a frontrunner for many fans, particularly after she was the only girl willing to participate in Dylan’s rugby match against Farmer Zac and his contestants. However, after some secret kisses and double dates that caused Lily’s departure last week, Sunday night’s episode has put contestants Ally and Scarlett at the forefront.
Fans are now accusing Dylan of “playing the field” after the Country Fair saw him move from one serious chat to the next.
Farmer Dylan knew things were going to ‘go south’
Speaking to WHO, Dylan opened up about what was going through his mind that day, and the pressure he felt to give every lady a “fair chance,” particularly after introducing Keeley as an intruder.
“I remember on the way back I was thinking in my head, this could go south real quick,” Dylan said. “I know this is going to catch them at a point of, like, ‘are we not good enough for him?’ and that might throw a spanner in the works.”
“But in the same breath, I know that [Ally, Scarlett and Renae] are understanding people, and if they get to know [Keeley], they’ll probably understand why I’ve made this decision.
“Because Keeley and I hit it off so well, it wouldn’t have been right for me to not bring her back, because then I went in without really giving her a fair chance.”
However, it turns out Dylan’s attempts to give everyone a “fair chance” have just put him in more hot water, with viewers labelling him as indecisive.

‘He doesn’t seem to have a mind of his own’
Before Renae’s departure, Dylan had some serious conversations with both Ally and Scarlett back-to-back.
After Ally admitted that she’s “come in here because [she’s] willing to put [her] life on hold to have security for [her] future children”, that she wants in five years, Dylan began responding with the revelation that children in five years “scares [him] a little bit.”
However, before their conversation could finish, Scarlett stormed towards the pair, asking Dylan if she was just “wasting her time” by sticking around, particularly since Keeley had now been added to the mix.
“What I have with you is pretty nuts,” he reassured her, which while great for Scarlett to hear, felt pretty out of place for fans watching at home who just saw him confess his deep connection to Ally only mere moments before.
“Dylan is playing the field and telling both girls what they want to hear,” a viewer wrote online.
“He’s falling for every single one of them as he doesn’t seem to have a mind of his own,” another agreed. “He goes with what they want.”
“You talk a future and kids with Ally then tell Scarlett you’re falling for her!!!” a fan observed. “Neither of those 2 appear to be suitable for farm life and seems you’re only interested in Scarlett cos of rodeos/polo.”
However, not everyone has been as critical, with some fans suggesting that he isn’t “a player so much as lacking in intelligence and self-awareness” (still far from a compliment!).

‘You are really tired’
After bringing back Keeley, Dylan’s biggest concern was how “it might affect [his] connections going forward”, as he revealed to WHO.
“You are really tired,” he admitted. “And you’re trying to do the experience properly, but you’re not able to give 100% of yourself because you’d lack that in tiredness.”
It’s probably fair to note that he is still working his full-time job as a farmer throughout filming, so it makes sense that he does not have the brain space – or sleep – to “articulate his thoughts” as concisely as fans would like.
However, I think it’s also fair to assume that he might find it difficult to say no to the more confident girls asking him for reassurance, leaving the quiet ones waiting until they can’t take it any longer (your man is out there Renae!).
