Emmerdale has finally revealed the identity of Kim Tate’s poisoner in a dramatic revenge twist that aired on Wednesday night.

As viewers will know, the co-owner of Home Farm Estate (Claire King) was rushed to hospital during Monday’s instalment of the ITV soap.

Kim had gone over to visit the Dingles at their family home Wishing Well Cottage to try and make amends as the Tates and Dingles have been arguing for quite some time.

As she made a toast, she collapsed in Lydia Dingle’s (Karen Blick) arms and had to go to hospital, and the episode left fans wondering who was the person behind it all.

Wednesday’s episode confirmed that it was in fact Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) who caused harm to his ex wife Kim.

Fans of the hit programme were left lost for words when he made a phone call and confessed that he would ‘find another way to dispose of the problem’ after his ‘double dose’ failed to work.

Totally unaware of his evil plan, Kim – who thought that she had done it to herself by taking more of her medication than she needed – said to Lydia and Chas: ‘This time, there was no enemy, no plotting, no poison plate.

‘Just me moving too fast. So maybe – on this occasion I did do all this to myself…’

Speaking about the plot twist, actor Andrew said: ‘Graham is clearly still incredibly angry that Kim tried to kill him six years ago.

‘This resulted in him faking his own death to escape the hit she put out on him. He lost Rhona in this process, so he still hasn’t forgiven Kim for that.

‘She took six years of his life away. That is why he just tried to kill her – for revenge.

‘I am not convinced his whole heart was in it because their relationship is complicated.

‘I think if his whole heart were in it, he would have actually made it happen.’

On Monday, as Kim toasted away to Lydia , Kim started to cough and a worried Lydia asked her if she was ok.

The businesswoman was told to sit down as she struggled to keep herself up at the dinner table.

She told everyone around the table that she was cold, and before she could explain how she was feeling to Lydia, she collapsed in her arms.

Chaz Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) phoned for an ambulance and told the caller: ‘Some woman has passed out, I think she might have had a bad reaction to something.’

Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) asked Sam Dingle (James Hooton): ‘We all ate the same thing, didn’t we?’

Caleb Miligan (William Ash) said: ‘If this is her pretending to be dead like that Graham?’

Ruby replied: ‘Did you just say that out loud?!’

A worried Lydia shouted: ‘How long is this ambulance going to take?!’

So they decided that it would be quicker if they took her to the hospital themselves.

Later on in the episode Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) received a call and could be heard saying: ‘So she’s still unconscious? What has actually happened?’

Graham (Andrew Scarborough) stood up from the other room as he listened and asked: ‘Who is that you’re talking to?’

Gabby replied to the person on the phone: ‘We’re on our way right now!’

She told Graham: ‘I don’t know everything, she’s passed out! We need to get to the hospital right now.’

Graham said: ‘So what wasn’t going to happen, has happened.’

At the hospital trainee doctor Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) told Lydia that she had to tell him exactly what happened.

A scared Lydia simply replied: ‘I don’t know!’

She continued: ‘We’d eaten a meal, had drinks, she was making a toast and she just started coughing, and coughing.

‘And then she collapsed on me.’

Dr. Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Lydia returned to house and told the rest of those at the dinner that they were waiting for blood results.

Ruby asked: ‘So is she in a morgue then?’

Lydia told her: ‘Look, I know you all hate her but she’s really not well.’

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) added: ‘After everything she’s put this family through, we’re not going to be losing any sleep.’

Sam added: ‘But I still don’t want her to die!’

Cain went on to say that if she ended up in a bag, their lives would ‘be a lot better’.

And Chas said: ‘I hope that you are not aiming that at us.’

‘Yesterday, you two were joking about ending her!’ he slapped back.

Chas said: ‘Yeah that’s what it was. A joke!’

Ruby added: ‘We’ve all got a motive…’

Sam chimed in: ‘YOU bought the bottle of wine.’

Caleb said: ‘It wasn’t the wine. If you want to start pointing fingers, dodgy mushrooms…’

In the hospital, by Kim’s bedside, Gabby said: ‘I can’t believe this is happening.’

Jacob entered the room and told the pair that they were still running tests, but they thought that it could potentially be severe mushroom poisoning.

‘Someone around that table was clearly targeting Kim, and I will find out who that someone is,’ Graham replied to her.

A worried Sam went to Cain for some support, because of the mushrooms he had picked, not knowing about what was said at the hospital.

Cain told him that they were ‘safe and that’s all you need to know’.

Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
