🚨 SHE WAS ONLY 15… A DE-ADLY SHO-O-TING INSIDE A CLEVELAND APARTMENT LEAVES TWO SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Fox 8 I-Team has confirmed Cleveland police are investigating a shooting involving a teen Thursday afternoon.
The shooting reportedly took place at an apartment building on the 900 block of Spring Road around 1:30 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene they found a 15-year-old shot inside an apartment. Police said Cleveland EMS arrived and declared the teen dead.
Police confirmed they have taken two people into custody. Police said they believe they had some involvement in the case.
“This is a very difficult scene to process,” Cleveland Police Sgt. Freddy Diaz said in a press conference Thursday, explaining they believe the teen and the suspects are known to one another.
Two firearms were also found believed to be a part of the shooting.
A loved one told FOX 8 that the victim was kind, caring looking forward to the future. She was getting ready to celebrate a birthday in September.
“Our hearts go out to her family, to those that are affected by this tragedy,” Diaz said. “I’m a parent, I have young kids as well … A lot of our officers here have teenage children so it’s always difficult to see these types of incidents occur.”
Cleveland police and EMS remained on the scene Thursday evening.
