A young South Australian father killed in a horror motorbike crash in the Adelaide Hills has been identified as Nathan Watts, remembered by his family as “a man of his word.”

Watts, 31, died alongside 47‑year‑old father‑of‑five Jarrid Cornwell when their motorcycles collided on Gorge Rd at Paracombe in Adelaide’s north east about 2.30pm on Saturday, April 4, during the Easter long weekend.

Despite desperate efforts from emergency crews, both men died at the scene.

According to locals, Watts could usually be seen and heard riding his motorbike around his home at Narine in the Adelaide Hills.

Loved ones say Watts was a man of logic, precision and absolute directness — a leader in his career and a hero at home.

Watts was an avid music lover, and a DJ, as well as an insurance broker for one of Adelaide’s largest companies, the Peregrine Corporation, according to his Facebook.

His sudden death leaves behind his wife, Jamiee‑Lee, and their 18‑month‑old son, Harvey.

Watts’ greatest mission was to secure his son’s future, according to a GoFundMe set up by a family friend.

“He lived life at full throttle, and we are starting this fund to ensure that the music he started never stops playing for his family,” fundraiser organiser Stef Newton said.

Organisers say the money will go toward Harvey’s future and helping the family with the daily needs of raising a toddler.

“If Nathan were here, he’d give the facts straight,” Newton said.

“He loved his family with absolute, unwavering clarity. He was a man of his word — and his word was always his family’s protection.

“We want to keep the records spinning for Nathan. We want to ensure that as Harvey grows, he has every opportunity his father dreamed of for him—from the highest peaks to the most technical challenges.”

A GoFundMe has been established for the family, raising $7000 as of Thursday evening.
