King Charles may be a monarch, but behind-closed-doors he is a very loving family man too. While he is known to get on well with his eldest son Prince William, and William’s wife and children, his relationship with his youngest son Prince Harry doesn’t seem to have been as smooth-sailing.

This is because since quitting royal life in 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have publicly criticised the Royal Family on multiple occasions. While the King still loves his youngest son, and last saw him in September, he has not seen his daughter-in-law Meghan for years.

It is believed he last saw her in September 2022 at the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, which was the last time the Duchess of Sussex was in the UK.

While they may therefore not have the closest relationship, a source has revealed that the King still cares about the duchess.

A source told Closer magazine: “Despite everything that’s happened, Charles has not turned his back on Meghan.

“The more time goes by, the more empathy he seems to feel for her.

“He doesn’t expect trust to be magically restored, but he believes empathy and basic decency should still apply, he thinks Harry, and by extension Meghan, deserves this.”

Although the King may feel this way, it is believed his wife Queen Camilla is not the greatest fan of Meghan Markle.

The source revealed: “Camilla has made it clear she doesn’t want to be in the same room as Meghan.”

It is believed there are some other members of the Royal Family who are also not Meghan’s biggest fan, including Harry’s estranged brother Prince William.

It is not known whether they would make time to see Meghan if she returns to the UK this year for the one-year countdown event to the 2027 Invictus Games.
