Meghan Markle has been slammed by angry MasterChef fans in Australia after it was revealed today that she will appear as a guest judge in the next series. The Duchess of Sussex, who is currently in Australia on tour with Prince Harry, has filmed her appearance in the upcoming cooking series, which starts on Sunday.

Masterchef Australia posted on social media: “We’re welcoming someone SUPER special into the MasterChef Kitchen. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, makes a special guest appearance this season as she returns to Australia for the first time since 2018.

“Joining a star-studded lineup of Guest Judges and culinary icons, Meghan helps guide some of the most impressive home cooks the competition has ever seen. This is the series of MasterChef you don’t want to miss.”

While the MasterChef Australia team seem excited to welcome Meghan as a guest on the show, their fans aren’t quite so keen, with many claiming they will no longer watch the show.

One person commented on MasterChef’s Instagram post: “What a way to ruin a good show!”

Another said: “And here I was looking forward to the new season! Tuning out!”

Someone else wrote: “I’ll be turning this one off then.”

While there are a number of comments from angry fans, many other fans of both Meghan and Masterchef are excited for the duchess’s TV appearance.

One fan commented, “How wonderful, this is a perfect guest! She had so many great recipes on the TIG and on her With Love, Meghan show, her recipes and her guests! A real foodie!”

Someone else wrote: “Oh, I LOVE this.”

A third said: “She’s in her element and back to what she loves: FOODIE!
