Woman in custody in connection with fatal North Philly stabbing

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A woman is now in police custody in connection with a fatal stabbing in North Philadelphia.

Police say 24-year-old Zayahshay Davis was apprehended in the area of 12th and Huntingdon Streets on Wednesday night.

Davis was being sought in connection with the stabbing death of 28-year-old Sariah Conover.

The stabbing occurred Monday just before 6 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Lehigh Avenue, police said.

Neighbors say a fight broke out before the stabbing. A video posted online, which is now under investigation by police, shows a woman walking across the street, holding what appears to be a large knife.

Sources tell Action News the women were dating the same man, and that a local social media influencer may have organized the fight and live-streamed when it became deadly.

There was no word on what charges Davis is facing.

Investigators have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

More charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information is urged to call 215-686-TIPS.
