Prince William and Princess Kate surprise with unseen family footage to mark Prince Louis’ 8th birthday

Prince Louis turned 8 on Thursday, and his loving family shared a series of tributes on social media to mark the special day

oyal fans were besotted when the Prince and Princess of Wales shared an adorable photograph of their youngest son, Prince Louis, who turned eight on Thursday, but that wasn’t the only surprise they had in store.

As well as the beautiful portrait of the youngest Wales family member, his big day was marked with a special family video, showing never-before-seen family moments between the future King and Queen and their beloved children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Louis.

Alongside the video, which you can see above, were the words: “Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Prince Louis. 8 is great!”

One special moment in the clip saw Louis beaming as he ran through the sand.

A birthday to remember

The clip comes after Louis’ official birthday portrait was shared on William and Kate’s official social media channels.

The caption read: “Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today! [balloon emoji].” The milestone image was captured by the family’s long-trusted photographer, Matt Porteous, and showed Prince Louis looking happier than ever, as he beamed against the glorious backdrop of the Cornish coast, where the family enjoyed a quiet getaway earlier this month.

Louis is at school on his birthday

One thing that couldn’t go unnoticed was just how grown-up the young Prince looked, sporting a cosy quarter-zip fleece lined with fur.

While some fans couldn’t believe how fast the time has gone, others compared him to his dad, Prince William, who was pictured in a similar backdrop as a child. “Oh my gosh, Prince Louis looks like his dad, Prince William, in this picture,” one wrote alongside a red love heart emoji.

A second added: “Happy 8th Birthday, Prince Louis! What a bright, confident young man you’ve become – that smile lights up the whole day! Wishing you endless laughter, fun adventures, and a year filled with joy.”

A third replied: “Happy Birthday louis! 8 already? That pic is adorable, kids are growing up fast.”
