etflix‘s hit show Nobody Wants This is loosely based on the real life of Erin Foster, the podcast host and daughter of acclaimed musician David Foster, and has become an Emmy-nominated success. With season three in production, Netflix has confirmed nine new guest stars – including Erin herself – but don’t expect anyone else from her real life to make an appearance.

Speaking to HELLO! at the PaleyFest event in Los Angeles on April 8, Erin insisted that her father would never gert a guest appearance on the comedy for one good reason: “Then everyone would accuse me of the show being a reality show, and it’s my worst nightmare!”

Nobody Wants This follows the love-at-first-sight relationship between a young American rabbi, Noah (Adam Brody), and an agnostic woman, Joanne (Kristen Bell), and is based on Erin’s own experiences of a romance and later marriage with music executive Simon Tikhman.

Three seasons in, Erin is still tapping into her own life experiences, joking: “Every day I’m fighting another battle being me and so I’m an endless supply of stories.” With a big writer’s room, however, the show has been able to factor in real-world experiences from across the spectrum that will “resonate” with the characters.

Little is known about season three but Erin says the vibes are “romantic” now that the biggest barrier has been removed. “Now they feel unstoppable,” she says.

There will also be a moment in season three that Erin’s friends and family will recognize as it has been drawn directly for her life, and although she could not vgive any details, Erin shares that it was a moment “I am really proud of that I really wanted in the show and I’m very excited”.

Season two saw Joanne and Noah face intense conflict over whether Joanne would convert to Judaism,, leading to a breakup before a reconciliation after Joanne finds her own path toward embracing Judaism – largely thanks to Noah’s sister-in-law Esther (Jackie Tohn).

Erin also converted to reform Judaism after being raised by her father and mother Rebecca Dyer. She tied the knot with Simon in 2019, and Kate Hudson was among the A-list guests in attendance.

Joining Erin as guest stars for season three are Andrew Rannells who will play Sebastian, “Joanne’s nemesis in conversion class,” and Sarah Silverman as Rabbi Eden, “the warm, quirky teacher of an Intro to Judaism class, and a supportive presence for Joanne and Noah”.

Sarah Silverman has been “bringing all that good energy,” Jackie told HELLO!, adding: “I don’t think anything has ever made more sense than having Sarah Silverman on Nobody Wants It.”

Avan Jogia, Poorna Jagannathan, Sadie Sandler, Stephanie Koenig, and Chicago Med‘s Steven Weber will all also appear.
