His devastated mother confirmed his identity to The New York Post on Father’s Day.
“He was the greatest kid in the whole wide world. He’d give you the shirt off his back,” Patricia Finelli told the outlet.
“He has two children, a beautiful wife, and he took care of me like I was a piece of gold.”
Police said Kueker plunged from an “elevated position” during the gig before he was found “unconscious and unresponsive”.
The NYPD told the New York Post: “At approximately 9:51 p.m. inside Madison Square Garden, officers observed a 51-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive.”
Emergency services rushed to the scene and he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Kueker had been enjoying the sold-out concert with his wife, Fox News reported.
The band said they were “heartbroken” in an emotional statement released on Instagram.
They wrote: “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show.
“We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected.
“Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”
No further information about what caused Kueker to fall has been revealed.
Fan photos shared on social media of several rows of seats cleared after the incident.
Several claimed Kueker had fallen from a high section of seating, and reported hearing a loud thud.
One Reddit poster who claimed to have witnesses the horror fall wrote: “We saw the entire thing and it actually impacted us physically.”
They said they left after the incident, but the concert continued.
Music database setlist.com reported that Goose played their full 16-song setlist before ending the concert just before midnight.
Another concert attendee wrote: “Was 8 seats away. Heard felt and saw it. MSG gave us wristbands for pit and we dipped.”
The Connecticut-based rock band is made up of Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weeks, Peter Anspach and Cotter Ellis.
They played their first night at the iconic gig venue last night, with a second show set for tonight.
The concerts are part of the band’s Summer 2026 tour, which sees them play 27 shows in 19 cities across the US and Canada.
