Second child dies after horror crash

A second child has died in hospital ​after a tragic car crash west of Melbourne​.

The 4WD with seven children inside ran off the road and rolled at the intersection of Nerowie Rd and Parwan-Exford Rd in Parwan about 4pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services raced to the scene and worked desperately to save a seven-year-old girl, but she died at the scene.

Another child, an 11-year-old boy, was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.

Tragically, police confirmed he had died overnight.

The other five children were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries alongside the driver, a 34-year-old woman, who is under observation.

7NEWS understands the children were being carpooled home from school at the time of the crash.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing and anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Car stolen by armed gang during home invasion

A man has been injured and his car stolen during a horror home invasion in Adelaide.

Police received reports of a group of men “suspiciously” loading property from one car to another along Port Wakefield Rd, Dry Creek, about 3.15am on Wednesday.

Officers arrived to find an abandoned grey Holden Commodore sedan which led them back to the car owner’s home about 10km north on International Ave in Salisbury North.

The owner was found at the home with facial injuries suffered during a break-in and assault just hours prior.

Inquiries suggest four armed men entered his home and assaulted the man before stealing his car, phone and other property.

He was taken to hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries while his was car towed away for forensic examination.

“Although the investigation is in its early stages, police do not believe this to be a random incident,” police said.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Manhunt after early-morning shooting

A manhunt is underway after a man was shot on the NSW Central Coast.

Emergency services were called to Lakedge Ave, near Kingsford Smith Rd, in Berkeley Vale about 6.15am on Wednesday after reports of a shooting.

A 37-year-old man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his hand and torso.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

Police are appealing to speak with the driver of a of a silver GWM 4WD ute with roof raks and a roll bar spotted in the area at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers or Tuggerah Lakes Police.

Second man charged after alleged shooting

A second man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged shooting in Brisbane.

Investigations were launched after a 24-year-old man was found on Centre St in Aspley with two gunshot wounds and rushed to hospital in a serious condition about 10.40pm on August 25.

Weeks later, on Tuesday, a 25-year-old man was arrested at a home in Griffin, about 13km north of the initial incident.

He was charged with one count of attempted murder and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

It comes after police arrested a 33-year-old man Richards Rd in Narangba on August 28. He remains before the courts.

Man killed in violent car and truck crash

A man has been found dead metres from his car after a horror crash with a truck.

The vehicles crashed on the Peninsular Link near Frankston-Dandenong Rd in Carrum Downs, southeast Melbourne, about 3..20am on Wednesday.

Emergency services raced to the scene and found no one inside the car.

Police searched the nearby area and found a man dead nearby. He is yet to be identified.

The truck driver stopped after the crash and was uninjured.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are at the scene to determine what caused the crash.

Commuters have been warned the southbound lane along the Peninsular link between Thompsons and Dandenong Rds will remain closed during investigations.
