Netflix’s ‘most twisted series of all time’ that pushes all boundaries

Fans warn that the series is ‘so unhinged’ not all viewers will be able to handle it

Fresh episodes of Netflix’s ‘funniest show ever’ described as ‘unhinged’ have landed on the platform for eager fans.

A brand new season of Bad Thoughts became available today (May 24). The brainchild of comedian Tom Segura, the series burst onto screens last year, with viewers immediately clamouring for a second run.

Now, just over a year on, those wishes have been fulfilled. Marketed by the streaming giant as a dark comedy series, each episode follows Segura as he navigates unthinkable scenarios and fantasies within a cinematic setting.

In many respects, it can be regarded as a twisted sketch show that truly pushes the boundaries. The nature of its subject matter has made it quite a divisive watch.

It boasts a vibrant ensemble of characters and storylines that develop in increasingly amusing and unsettling directions.

Segura not only takes the lead role but also holds writing and directing credits on the show , reports Wales Online.

The comedian already has several stand-up specials available on the streaming platform. These include 2020’s Ball Hog, alongside 2023’s Sledgehammer and his more recent offering Teacher, which dropped in 2025.

Sadly for the stand-up comic, Bad Thoughts failed to win over every professional critic upon its initial release, mustering just a 54% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Nevertheless, in a preview of the series, a writer for the LA Times likened the show to “like a fever dream. It’s so unhinged that your brain might file a restraining order.”

One critic has boldly declared it “Netflix’s most twisted dark comedy series of all time”, going on to say that the show goes “to the absolute limit of what most people can stomach. Pushing boundaries with its edgy, even cringey, comedic content, Segura is at his most off-the-rails ever.”

The same critic predicts that Season 2 “will surely be a perfect one-night weekend binge for all comedy fans.” Despite receiving a mixed critical reception, Bad Thoughts has nonetheless cultivated a devoted following of fans who are keen to champion the series.

One viewer sharing their opinion online simply stated: “Bad Thoughts is sooooo good! Funniest show on Netflix for sure.” Another added: “This show is pure gold. Some of these sketches are the funniest things I’ve ever seen on TV.”

A further viewer offered their verdict, declaring: “So dark and twisted. Some of these images have stuck with me and will probably never leave my head… bravo.”

While another commented: “Super dark, super weird, and hilarious in the most uncomfortable ways. Every sketch feels like a mini fever dream that somehow keeps you laughing even while you’re cringing. If you like comedy that pushes things way too far in the best way, this show is it.”

Bad Thoughts is streaming on Netflix.
