‘IT WAS A SCENE NO OFFICER EVER WANTS TO SEE’: WOMAN CHARGED WITH MUR-DER AFTER 4-YEAR-OLD BOY FOUND DE-AD AS POLICE REVEAL DEVASTATING NEW DETAILS
A woman has been charged after the body of a child was discovered inside a home on NSW’s Central Coast.
Police said a 32-year-old woman attended Wyong Police Station about 4.40pm on Saturday and officers attempted to speak to her.
When those attempts were unsuccessful, police conducted a welfare check on a nearby home on Byron Street, Wyong.
At the home, officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District found the body of a four-year-old boy with significant injuries to his arm. The child has not yet been formally identified.
The woman, who police said lived alone at the unit with the child, was arrested at Wyong Police Station before being charged.
“I’m prepared to say publicly at the moment, it was an extremely confronting scene,” NSW Police Superintendent Chad Gillies said.

Police have also seized a vehicle, which is undergoing forensic examination.
Investigators said there was no information at this stage to suggest anyone else was involved, and there was no ongoing threat to the community.
“It’s absolutely important to work through this methodically. We try to understand what’s happened, why it’s happened, and from my perspective, we owe that to that little boy to make sure that we get the exact circumstances and present them to the court in due course,” Gillies said.
Following inquiries, the 32-year-old woman was charged on Sunday with one count of murder (DV).
She was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Court 6 on Sunday.
Gillies said he had personally met with the police and ambulance crews who responded.
A crime scene has been established while detectives from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, investigate the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
