Netflix viewers have been left enthralled by a new thriller with a ‘diabolical twist’ – as it’s branded the ‘ideal January binge’.
His & Hers dropped on the streaming platform yesterday (January 8), with fans already showing their appreciation.
Starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, it adapts Alice Feeney’s 2020 novel of the same name.
A synopsis for the series reads: ‘Two estranged spouses — one a detective, the other a news reporter — vie to solve a murder in which each believes the other is a prime suspect.’
Tessa, 42, portrays news reporter Anna who hopes for a comeback by covering the case.
While Jon, 49, plays Jack, a detective who is leading the investigation and is Anna’s estranged husband.

In their review of the new show, The Guardian described His & Hers as ‘ideal new year TV’.
They added: ‘We are in the presence of a glossy, efficient adaptation of a bestselling thriller and it is time to switch off our brains and enjoy.
‘The twists, they are plentiful. The absurdities, they multiply. The viewerly enjoyment, it increases.
‘The script – intoxicating mercenariness aside – is serviceable. The endeavour is bingeable.’
The series has also been receiving positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, where it currently has a score of 83%.
One person wrote: ‘Guilty pleasure, but well written and acted. The cast is excellent and the ending satisfying.’

The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, an autistic surgeon working at a California hospital.
It originally aired from 2017 to 2024 on ABC and has now found further popularity on Netflix.
