DETAILS have emerged about the white-haired attorney defending Lindsay Clancy in the trial where she’s accused of strangling her three children to death.
Kevin Reddington, the Brockton-based attorney with a “Never represent an informant” tattoo hidden under his suits, has a reputation in Massachusetts for taking on cases of clients who claimed their crimes were driven by mental health struggles.

Lindsay has admitted to killing her three kids on January 24, 2023, but Reddington plans to argue she was suffering from undiagnosed postpartum psychosis.
While her then-husband Patrick Clancy was briefly out of the house picking up medicine for their daughter and takeout for him and Lindsay, she strangled their kids: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and eight-month-old Callan in the basement of their Duxbury home.
When Patrick returned, he found Lindsay on the ground in their backyard after she jumped from their bedroom window, shortly after crushing up pills and slashing her wrists and neck with a knife from the kitchen.
Patrick then found his children in the basement of the home.

Lindsay was prescribed 13 different medications for her mental health struggles in the months before her children’s deaths and was hospitalized multiple times.
Reddington has pointed out in court that she called suicide hotlines and detailed her struggles in diary entries as he establishes his defense that Lindsay was not criminally responsible for murder.
Reddington has over 40 years of experience, but in his personal life, he has a black belt in karate.
However, he left the practice to instead take up scuba diving, according to Wicked Local.
The 75-year-old also has several tattoos, including one on his shoulder that reads “Never represent an informant,” in Latin.
On his other shoulder, he has a tattoo that reads “Come and take them” in Greek.
Reddington also keeps a variety of items in his office, or at least did in 2011, including a collection of swords, daggers, newspapers of his trials and skulls.
He is also known to hold onto evidence after acquittals, using brass knuckles as a paperweight.

He is reportedly known for forming a tight connection with his clients, which has appeared to be revealed in Lindsay’s trial as he held her hand while she sobbed during the playing of the 911 call Patrick made after he found her.
Reddington has four children and has a practice with his son, Patrick, where they skip lunch, “consuming only coffee, believing food makes them tired and slows them down,” according to Wicked Local.
He has represented several high-profile clients, including Catherine Greig, the girlfriend of convicted killer and notorious Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger.
Bulger, who died in 2018, was known for leading the Irish mob in Boston in the 1970s and 1980s, and later became a member of the FBI’s Most Wanted List after he vanished in 1995.

Authorities tracked him down in 2011 and arrested him for 19 murders, and Grieg hired Reddington as her attorney when authorities said she spent 16 years on the run with Bulger.
She was ultimately convicted of identity fraud and harboring Bulger, receiving an eight-year prison sentence.
While Reddington was defending Therese Rogers in 1989, who was accused of murdering her boyfriend by sticking knives into his eyes as he slept, the attorney threw stars across the courtroom to show the jury how dangerous they are.
Reddington won the case after convincing the jurors that Rogers’ and her then nine-year-old daughter were being abused by her boyfriend for years, which then led to battered woman’s syndrome, a type of temporary insanity.

He also defended Red Sox first baseman Mo Vaughn, convincing the jury that his several failed sobriety tests after a car accident were not because of drunk driving, but a result of shock from the crash.
The win in that case landed Reddington a spot in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a prestigious, invitation-only honor given to no more than 1% of trial lawyers in the US and Canada.
Reddington will continue to represent Lindsay as her trial, where she has pleaded not guilty to three murder charges, remains ongoing.
After Lindsay struck an evidence deal to establish some forensic aspects as fact, Reddington revealed the trial has the potential to be shorter.
After taking on the case, he got the judge’s approval to have her examined by a forensic psychologist, and asked to let Lindsay await trial outside of jail.
The judge agreed and allowed Lindsay to be held at Tewksbury Hospital in Massachusetts.
The attorney has also publicly opposed the prosecution in Lindsay’s case, with a few outbursts seen in court.
When the prosecution claimed Lindsay’s case was a result of conscious actions of a “selfish” woman and not a referendum of the mental health system, Reddington said, “it sure as hell is.”
“She loved those children right up to the time of their death,” he told the court.
