King strips Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of final honours
Royal fans have delivered their own verdict aboutĀ Andrew Mountbatten-Windsorās fall from grace. The former Duke of YorkĀ saw his whole life changeĀ after his brother, King Charles, removedĀ his titles and honoursĀ due to his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
It emerged shortly before the posthumous release of Virginia Giuffre’s book Nobody’s Girl. The memoir, which gives her account of being trafficked by the late US financier, includes allegations against a number of other individuals, including Andrew.
It details previous claims that she was forced to have sex with the former prince on three occasions, including when she was 17. AndrewĀ vehemently denies the allegations. Andrew paid millions to Ms Giuffre to settle a civil sexual assault case, despite claiming never to have met her.

He has also been forced to give up his Windsor home, Royal Lodge, after public outcry when it emerged he had been paying a peppercorn rent for the property.
The Kingās brother has been continuously receiving negative press in recent months and now, the Daily Express readers have given their own verdict about his treatment.
One reader wrote onĀ Chris Richesās column: āI have followed this story and could never understand why Andrew was treated so badly by the public or the family because of J. Epstein.
āYou can be friends with people and not share their behaviour and lifestyle.
āHe might be arrogant and want things his way but that doesn’t make him a criminal. I feel sorry for him.ā
A second one said: āIn my opinion, as the King has taken action regarding Andrew, people should stop this hate campaign against him.

āHe paid that woman off because it was the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year and didn’t want the occasion marred by the media storm surrounding these accusations made against him.ā
A third reader added: āAndrew hasn’t been arrested, questioned, charged with, or found guilty of anything.
āHe made some questionable decisions and knew some questionable people, haven’t we all, but that doesn’t mean that he shared their views.ā
A fourth one agreed: āI’m not a fan ….but he’s never been charged, never been convicted of any crime, accusations are too easy.ā
However, others agreed with his recent fall from grace due to his behaviour.
One reader commented: āWar hero, yes. He did his part. No doubt. I dare say he enjoyed the glory, but I am afraid Andrew is a spoilt child.
āArrogant, entitled and a bully at times. Having said that, no one wants to see him live in deep despair, but he has shown no contrition for his lack of judgment in consorting with a horrible man.ā
A second one said: āYes, he should be left alon,e but he should never be allowed back into the fold publicly. He’s had a public humiliation, but he should not be allowed to be photographed in public with the RF.
āHe’s had a fall from grace and been disliked for years. This is due to his arrogance and self-importance.ā
A third one opined: āAndrew is a proven liar and has brought all of this upon himself! Much as I respected her, the late Queen should have dealt with Andrewās behaviour decades ago!ā
A fourth reader wrote: āHis blatant lies in the TV interview were disgraceful. There have been far too many stories about his attitude towards others; they can’t all be wrong.
āIf we have a Royal Family, we expect them to behave with dignity and respect for others as does, for example, William and Catherine. We never hear of tantrums or rudeness from them. I accept he was in the Falklands and it’s a pity he did not continue his life in a way we might respect him.ā
The disgraced royal is set to move into one of the Kingās private properties within the Sandringham Estate soon.
