EXCLUSIVE: A body language expert has examined Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their arrival in Australia.

Meghan Markle appeared to showcase one key detail about her relationship with Prince Harry with a major move during the first day of the couple’s Australian trip. The couple landed in Melbourne on Tuesday, ready for a few days carrying out visits and engagements Down Under.

The couple, who will celebrate eight years of marriage this spring, tied the knot in Windsor in May 2018. The couple have since welcomed two children together – Prince Archie in 2019 and Princess Lilibet two years later.

Speaking to the Daily Express, body language expert Judi James analysed pictures of the couple arriving at the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum earlier today.

Meghan has been described as “needy” by Ms James, who told the Daily Express: “Harry’s splayed chest and long-reach wave here suggests he’s at peak confidence and peak levels of delight here.” Speaking of Meghan, she added that the pictures of the former actress clinging onto Harry’s hand signal that she is trying to “retain his attention”.

Ms James added: “Meghan’s wide smile appears to match the delight signals, but her hand-holding and bicep clasp give a slightly needier signal of firm attachment as though she’s keen to retain his attention.” Unlike their fellow royals, such as Prince William and Princess Catherine, Meghan and Harry are known for their public displays of affection.

They are undertaking a range of visits, with their first at Melbourne Children’s Hospital today. The couple were then pictured on a tour of the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum. Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, undertook their final engagement as senior working royals in March 2020, just a few weeks after making the announcement that they would be stepping down.

The couple previously travelled to Australia and New Zealand in October 2018, just a few months after their wedding in Windsor. As the couple arrived at the hospital in Melbourne, a crowd of young patients, their families, hospital staff and members of the public had packed in to the building’s main foyer. Meghan was pictured in a sweet moment with a four-year-old girl called Lily, who was born just a day before the couple’s young daughter.
