Meghan Markle has been criticised by fans after she shared a new “dad” message ahead of Father’s Day next weekend. The Duchess of Sussex sent a new newsletter to her As Ever customers promoting her stock for the special day marked on Sunday, June 21, this year.

Meghan’s message, titled “Say thanks to Dad,” read: “Whether you need a simple way to say ‘thank you’ to Dad or simply want to create a comforting morning moment — breakfast in bed is the perfect treat. Gather your favourite morning baked goods (we love a buttery, flaky croissant) and serve with a dab of salted butter and a swipe of our Strawberry Spread. Add a slice of a favourite fresh fruit, and pour a steaming cup of coffee or Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea. Breakfast served bedside with a warm smile and a loving hug is a simple way to remind those we love how special they are.”

as ever spread

However, fans were not impressed with Meghan’s overly curated spread and called the Duchess out for having the “worst idea ever”.

Social media user, Royal News Network, who regularly criticises the Sussex couple online, wrote on X: “This is the worst idea for a Father’s Day promotion, but it’s Meghan Markle’s As Ever, so it’s par for the course. This reeks and screams woman, not man.”

They added that the “vast majority of the male population has zero interest in her slop.”

Several people appeared to agree with them, with one user writing: “It is! Not a single creative cell in her blood. Why not show a real English Breakfast with tea, or home-made baked beans made with the honey?”

A second user said: “If I put that in front of my husband, he would laugh and say what this s*** is.”

A third one commented: “My husband would not care for this.”

A fourth one then wrote: “My husband’s idea of a Father’s Day breakfast is scrambled eggs, bacon, hash-browns/home fries and pancakes, not croissants and fake jam.”

A fifth one asked jokingly: “Wait, that is supposed to be breakfast for a man?”

Last year, for Father’s Day, the Duchess uploaded a video of the Duke and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,

Meghan captioned the video: “The best. Happy Father’s Day to our favourite guy.”
