The York sisters are not working members of the royal family but have joined the Princess of Wales at many high-profile events over the years
hey’ve been seen together at many a high-profile royal event throughout the years, but surprisingly little is known about the relationship between the Princess of Wales and her cousins-in-law, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
The York sisters, who are not working members of the royal family, grew up with their cousins Prince Harry and Prince William and enjoyed a close relationship – but less is known about their relationship with Kate.
Speculation has grown surrounding the sisters and their royal friendships, especially following the arrest of their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
HELLO!‘s Royal Editor, Emily Nash, comments: “Kate has been a central member of the royal family for 15 years now and knows them all well, but like William, she is very aware of public opinion and the risk that this scandal poses to the monarchy’s reputation. They will understandably want to distance themselves as much as possible from it.”
Over the years, Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, have joined Kate and William for many a Christmas and Easter church service, as well as supporting the Princess of Wales at her Together At Christmas carol service. They’ve also attended each other’s respective weddings.
Read on for Kate’s best moments with Beatrice and Eugenie – and their recent show of support for one another.

Eugenie wrote on Instagram: “Wish Bea and I could have been celebrating tonight with our family. Wishing @princeandprincessofwales such a special evening at her incredible carol service. What an amazing message of hope.”
Beatrice was seen arriving at last year’s service alongside her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and her stepson, Christopher ‘Wolfie’ Woolf. At the time, Beatrice was pregnant with her second child, Athena, and the royal was seen wearing a burgundy dress with a delicate floral print and a floaty midi skirt that skimmed over her blossoming baby bump.

Royal wedding – 2011
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie married in 2020 and 2018 respectively – but back in 2011, they supported William and Kate at the royal wedding.
The sisters famously wore rather eccentric headgear from Philip Treacy, with the former’s nude circular bow in particular catching attention.
Beatrice later put the piece up for sale on eBay in aid of UNICEF and Children in Crisis and said: “I’ve been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted. It’s a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities. I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have.”
