Police in Melbourne are hunting for a male suspect who carried out a brazen, broad-daylight shooting at a home in Craigieburn. The incident took place at approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 24, 2025, on Elmwood Plane.

Security footage captures the suspect dressed entirely in black—wearing a hooded jumper, face mask, balaclava, black tracksuit pants with a grey waistband, and black shoes with white soles. The perpetrator stepped out of a black Land Rover and calmly fired three shots from a handgun toward the house before fleeing in a southerly direction. Fortunately, the home was unoccupied at the time of the attack.

Addressing the media this morning, Senior Constable Mitchell Jones stated that the man “dường như đã quay lại cuộc tấn công bằng điện thoại của mình”. Regarding the motive, Jones noted that it “có vẻ như” the shooting was not intended to harm anyone, but that it was “có khả năng” intended as a threat.

The investigation is currently facing significant challenges, as the incident was not reported to the police until January 2026. Authorities have not recovered the video recorded by the shooter, and the poor quality of the available footage has prevented the identification of the vehicle or the specific firearm beyond confirming it was a handgun. Furthermore, the delay in reporting ruled out the possibility of conducting a ballistic analysis at the scene.

Although the residents of the address were “khá sốc và lo lắng” due to the incident, they have been cooperative with investigators. At this stage, police are treating the shooting as a lone incident and are appealing to the public for any information that may assist the investigation.
