The husband of a Chicago school teacher, who vanished over the weekend after leaving for an acupuncture appointment, is pleading for his wife’s safe return.

“I am terrified,” Antwon Brown, the husband of Linda Brown, told NBC affiliate WMAQ. “I am just shaking. I need my wife home.”

According to a missing persons bulletin from the Chicago Police Department, Linda, 53, was last seen on Saturday, Jan. 3, in the area of the 4500 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The department said that the teacher may have been driving a blue Honda Civic with Illinois plate # CX57470.

A flyer posted on social media by the Chicago Teachers Union noted that Linda was heading to the Wicker Park area for an acupuncture appointment, but that she never arrived and has not been heard from since — all of which her husband Antwon also confirmed to WMAQ.

“She may be in need of medical attention,” the Chicago Police said of Linda in its bulletin.

Antwon told ABC affiliate WLS that the couple had watched a movie together in their Bronzeville home Friday evening, Jan. 2, before going to bed. That was the last time he saw her.

“Everything was fine,” Antwon recalled. “Next morning, I woke up, it was like 8:35 a.m., and she was gone. No sign of her. I thought she went to acupuncture because she goes to acupuncture on Saturdays.”

He also told WMAQ that Linda — described by authorities as being 5 feet 0 inches tall and 130 lbs., with brown hair and eyes — had her phone and purse with her when she headed for the appointment, but relatives were unable to get in touch with her.

Linda is a special education teacher at Chicago’s Robert Healy Elementary, according to the school’s website. Both WMAQ and WLS reported that she was scheduled to return to work on Monday, Jan. 5.

The school’s principal, Erin Kamradt, wrote a letter to parents about Linda’s disappearance.

“I know that news like this can cause many emotions, questions, and concerns for our school community,” Kamradt wrote in the letter, obtained by WMAQ. “Please know that we are partnering with the CPS Crisis Management Unit to support our students and staff members.”

“If you feel that your child would benefit from additional social-emotional support, please do not hesitate to let us know. Our own school-based mental health professionals will also be available as needed,” the principal’s letter continued.

Meanwhile, Antwon told WLS that he is “frightened and scared,” and “breaking down” following his wife’s disappearance.

“Like, where is she?” he asked. “Like, I don’t know what to do. I did everything. We got police detectives out. Everybody’s looking. We love her. We miss her. We want her to come home.”
