Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been making consistent headlines since last Thursday, when the former prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. While Andrew was released under investigation on the same day of his arrest, members of the public seem to have had enough of the King’s brother, with calls to remove him from the line of succession.
Although Andrew, who turned 66 last week, has always denied wrongdoing and accusations against him, it is believed that the government wants to consider a legislation change so Andrew can be removed from his place as eighth in line to the throne. It is believed no changes would be started until after the police investigation into Andrew has been concluded.
However, it is not known whether Andrew, if removed from the line of succession, would be the only royal impacted.
This is because it raises questions as to whether his daughters Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, and their children, would also be removed from the line of succession if Andrew was to be.
At the moment, Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne, while Eugenie is 12th in line after Beatrice’s daughters Sienna and Athena.
Eugenie’s sons August and Ernest are then 13th and 14th in line to the throne.

Just last week, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that after Andrew’s arrest, he thinks Andrew’s daughters will now “disappear” from royal life.

He told The Express: “Beatrice and Eugenie will disappear from royal life. They will probably lose their coveted charitable organisations. They are unlikely to be prominent in the future and would be better off quiet.”
The sisters have not commented on their father’s arrest last week, which happened on his 66th birthday.
