The Duchess of Edinburgh is currently on a royal tour in Kenya.

Duchess Sophie has arrived in Kenya for a two-day visit centred on women’s contributions to peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Undertaken at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Sophie’s visit is focused on conflict-related sexual violence and amplifying survivor voices.

Sophie’s itinerary will celebrate female leaders working across security, peacebuilding and business sectors. During her time in Nairobi, Sophie is expected to hold talks with President William Rutto at State House.

Here, the Daily Express looks at a few pictures taken from day one of Sophie’s visit.
