According to journalist Clare Muldoon, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie should be immediately stripped of their royal titles for one brutal reason. Muldoon appeared on the Channel 5 show Storm and Alexis, joining hosts Alexis Conran and Storm Huntley to argue that the monarchy needs to get rid of their titles if it is to survive

Muldoon said on the show: “Being a princess is a role, it’s a privilege. And normally when people do wrong, their privileges are taken away, and in this case I am without a doubt of the view, of the opinion that these girls should have them stripped.”

Muldoon insisted that the “end of the monarchy” is a “question for another day”, while Conran chimed in: “But if they are… the pieces of evidence we saw in the Epstein files, for example they were 19 and 20 when their mother flew them to Florida to meet with Jeffrey Epstein.

“Yes, they were 19 and 20 but we mustn’t forget the spin that Jeffrey Epstein had put on his incarceration. He made it out to be on a technicality.

“Of course it was all completely wrong, he was found to have done some very heinous things and that’s why he got quite a light jail sentence the first time around.

“But we don’t know what they were being told. Is it fair to punish those two girls at that age for actually following instructions from their parents?”

Muldoon insisted: “We’re not punishing them for that one trip. Being a princess is an absolute privilege. The cost of taxpayers’ money and now on reflection we know what went on. We know they advised both their parents. What role do they have anyway?”

Viewers were divided, however, as one fumed: “Being a princess is a birth right! They haven’t done anything wrong!”

Another said: “What have they done wrong?”
