Meghan Markle has revealed Princess Lilibet’s American accent in a new video posted yesterday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s four-year-old daughter made a subtle appearance in her mother’s Instagram Stories, filmed inside the Sussexes’ chicken coop.

Meghan was joined by Los Angeles-based chocolatier Jonathan Grahm, the co-founder of Compartes, after the pair worked together on a special Mother’s Day collection for As Ever.

‘When the chocolate man comes to see the chickens. Compartes is here, and there’s Hill and Jill!’ the Duchess said, as she turned the camera on the birds.

Lilibet, whose face was concealed, then called out to Meghan as she informed her mother that she had collected ‘a grey’ chicken egg.

‘Mum, I got another grey one!’ the toddler excitedly said, as the Duchess replied: ‘Thanks, sweetheart!’

While Lilibet’s face was not visible, Prince Harry and Meghan’s daughter’s bright pink dress could be seen in the background of the video.

The Duchess wore a sleeveless black top and trousers as she gave Jonathan a tour of the coop at Harry and Meghan’s $14 million Montecito mansion yesterday.

Royal fans first heard Lilibet’s voice in January 2025, when the Duchess posted an emotional tribute in memory of the Sussexes’ late beagle, Guy, on social media.

Fans on X also suggested Lilibet loves pink after noticing the colour of her flowy dress.

‘Our princess always in pink,’ one supporter wrote, as Lilibet is frequently pictured in rose-coloured clothes, including her favourite pair of leggings.

The first time royal fans heard Lilibet’s voice was in January 2025, when the Duchess posted an emotional tribute in memory of the Sussexes’ late beagle, Guy, on social media.

Meghan’s video included a tender moment of Lilibet and her older brother, Prince Archie, six, singing to the beloved pooch as well as a clip of Prince Archie and Guy that was taken during a car journey.

It appears both children now have pronounced American accents after the Sussexes quit the Royal Family and moved to California in 2020.

Last April, Meghan gave fans an intimate glimpse into their family life when she posted two separate videos featuring Archie and Lilibet on Instagram.

The first clip opened with footage of the fish pond located on Harry and Meghan’s sprawling Montecito estate as Archie can be heard excitedly asking his ‘mama’ to watch him feed the koi.

In another clip, Lilibet tried her mother’s signature strawberry jam and declared ‘it’s beautiful’ with a twang.

It comes after Meghan was accused of monetising her family’s royal links when she released two £47 candles inspired by her children.

The marketing materials for the candles, named after their birthdays, referred to ‘Prince Archie of Sussex’ and ‘Princess Lilibet of Sussex’.

The candles, along with $58 caramel-filled chocolates from Compartes, are part of Meghan’s limited-edition Mother’s Day ‘edit’ on As Ever.

Unlike her first As Ever jam collection, which was sent out to numerous A-listers, the latest products were delivered to influencers with much smaller followings in what appeared to be a marketing pivot.

Among those who got the parcel is Meghan’s best friend, Kelly McKee Zajfen, who hailed the Duchess as the ‘best mama’ to her 43,000 followers.

Meghan’s close friend and Pilates instructor, Heather Dorak, who has 12,000 followers, and Today show editor, Adrianna Barrionuevo Brach, who has almost 7,000 followers, also received a parcel.

A select number of medium-level American influencers, including Carly (@mycityapartment), who has more than 460,000 followers, and Kristina Zias, with nearly 350,000 followers on Instagram, were also on the list.

Serena Williams, who has been friends with Meghan for over a decade, was a notable exception as the tennis ace also showed off the contents of Meghan’s PR package.

However, some fans questioned their closeness after Serena, 44, shared a ‘disastrous’ video of her unboxing the parcel on Instagram.

Instead of posting a glowing, high-effort product shot, the athlete shared a bizarre, ‘casual’ attempt at promotion, showing the chocolates displaced and partially crushed in the box, or as she put it, ‘botched’ – before adding that she ‘doesn’t like chocolate’.

The post was worlds away from the usual snaps shared by celebrities to promote their friends’ businesses – and when Meghan sent round her first PR packages, Kris Jenner and Chrissy Teigen shared a stunning setup to showcase the products.

Serena’s post appeared to involve a much lower effort, with fans branding the post ‘poorly done’. One wrote: ‘I’m not sure if Serena just tossed the box around before filming, but the end result felt like a very poorly done promotion.’

In the clip, Serena said as she showcased the crushed treats: ‘Anyway, the chocolate was beautiful. It was delicious. I don’t like chocolate, but I have been killing them. So good.’

Commenting on Meghan’s calligraphy, she said: ‘Her penmanship has always been amazing from the 100 years I seem to have known her.’

And when looking at the No.506 candle, which features scents of Ginger, Cashmere and Neroli, Serena said she ‘can’t pronounce’ the last ingredient – and it was much the same for the second candle, which included Santal – ‘another word I can’t pronounce’.

She concluded the post by saying, presumably directed at Meghan: ‘I love candles, thank you, I love you.’

One commenter wrote: ‘It actually makes you wonder – why would you make your friend’s product look bad while trying to promote it?’

A second wrote: ‘Serena has been Markled’. A third joked: ‘I don’t like chocolate… It was delicious… Uhhhhhh.’

A fourth wrote: ‘What a beautiful box…and inside a complete mess.’
