Baby dropped from window of burning home saved by police officer© Kalamazoo Public Safety
A baby was saved from a house fire after a trapped mother threw the infant into the arms of a police officer.
Bodycam footage shared by Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety on Tuesday (19 May) shows an officer running towards the burning house in Michigan, where a mother and her infant were trapped.
He then instructed the mother to “kick down the screen” and throw him her baby from the second-floor window. Hands out stretched, the officer reassured the woman that he “got it” before successfully catching the child.
A ladder was then deployed moments later which allowed the mother to safely climb down.
Both the mother and child were transported to a hospital for precautionary tests. Neither sustained injuries.
