A man has been seriously injured in a shooting in Melbourne, in the latest attack believed to be linked to underworld figure Fadi Haddara.
A 37-year-old believed to be an associate of Haddara was shot outside a property on Malacca Street in Heidelberg West about midday on Wednesday.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
This is the third shooting believed to be tied to the family crime group in just over a week.
Residents near the scene said they initially mistook the gunfire for construction noise.
“I heard about three or four shots. I thought it was someone banging on a tin fence, and next minute I know there’s cops everywhere,” a nearby tradie said.
“Can’t believe it… nothing happens here. It’s just such a quiet little spot,” another resident told 9News.
Those responsible fled in a car and remain at large.
The attack follows a sudden escalation in violence targeting Haddara’s circle.
Haddara himself was shot in his Altona North driveway on August 17, before another associate was targeted in a drive-by shooting outside a cafe last Friday.
Haddara was seriously injured in the August 17 attack and was only released from hospital on Tuesday.
Police are still searching for the gunmen behind all three attacks.

Haddara is accused of being the head of his namesake family crime group, which has been fierce rivals of jailed tobacco kingpin Kazem Hamad.
Victorian authorities have long suspected the Haddara group of being involved in the state’s illicit tobacco trade.
